She Monster

This and its companion piece, the Viking ship, can be aptly referred to "melon heads" because their heads lack, shall we say, a certain refinement and delicacy.

Such was the state of the art of consumer-level 3D software circa whenever-this-was-made. One could make and animate whatever one wanted to, as long as it was comprised of spheres, cubes, cylinders, or lathed or extruded shapes.

She Monster (a play on the words "sea monster") is one of earliest 3D pieces in this gallery. The software used was ill suited to character animation, but who could resist putting all of those spheres and cylinders to work?

Despite her crudeness, She Monster inspires affection. Her bright lipstick and bead necklace have since influenced other pieces including Konnie Tiki.
